If you played Assassin’s Creed Unity then you already know how frustrating it was to find those chests who couldn’t be opened unless you had the Assassin’s Creed Unity companion apps installed on your phone.
Recently though, the Assassin’s Creed Unity game receive a very interesting update, which basically seems to make this particular companion app rather useless.
Until this point, the companion app was required in order to perform unlocks for those blue chests that included a multitude of goodies. Be it new items, gear or money, such items were indeed useful for the Assassin’s Creed Unity players but unfortunately this lock mechanic made the game quite hard to bear with to be honest.
Thankfully though, after a multitude of complaints from the Assassin’s Creed Unity community, this nagging feature was removed from the app, so those chests can be unlocked freely without any restrictions.
But, what use is the Assassin’s Creed Unity right now, once the main feature it had was blatantly removed from it? Well, you can still try to solve glyph puzzles that give you in-game rewards, engage into exploring heatmaps for in-game regions as well as check out and customize your equipment for Assassin’s Creed Unity even if you are on the go. The companion app still offers a database of all items and locations from Assassin’s Creed Unity that can be perused at your own convenience.
Is this a smart move from Ubisoft, to cut its main feature right from the start? It can be hard to determine this to be honest, but considering that a multitude of gamers were unhappy with the whole thing, this pretty much shows that the company at least cares about what the gamers say, especially after the Assassin’s Creed Unity launch fiasco in which the game was just unplayable. We look forward to see how the Assassin’s Creed Unity companion app will evolve in the future, as it seems new features will be introduced soon!
