Bridgy Jones – Game Review
For a very long time now, people have been obsessed with creating bridges and constructing railroads. With the help of Bridgy Jones, a new iOS game they can do that and so much more. What makes this game interesting is the fact that you start the game with just a simple background, but from there you need to create your own railroad in order to get from point A to point B in a matter of seconds. Once the bridges and tracks have been completed, it’s up to you to successfully drive the train from one destination to another.
The gameplay idea on its own is far from being original, in fact it has been used in numerous other games, so you can’t come here hoping for something new. However, there are quite a lot of interesting changes to the original formula that might make the game worthwhile.
First of all, from a graphical standpoint, Bridgy Jones manages to bring a much needed update to the bridge building formula, since the game looks great most of the time. Some of the backgrounds weren’t that detailed unfortunately, and the fact that they are repeated quite a lot is a little bad, but overall the character design is good and railroad placement is interesting so there isn’t that much to complain.
We liked the soundtrack a lot, because in our opinion, it successfully manages to capture the magical aspects of railroad building, and that is indeed something that you might expect from such a game. Sure, there is always a room for improvement but Bridgy Jones does a great job from a sound standpoint.
Bridgy Jones comes with 32 different levels where you can place your bridge designs, and you can rest assured that all of them are quite challenging. Not once we were challenged when it comes to creating a bridge, and because of that we can say that Bridgy Jones creates a great, appealing gameplay environment. The only downside here is that we found the gameplay to be a little repetitive at times, but the fact that you can use different materials to create the tracks, such as concrete, ropes, planks and normal track more than makes up for it.
Bridgy Jones also comes with some side objectives, some of which might be harder to understand than the others. Even so, the game provides a lot of replay value so we can easily say that you can lose dozens of hours in this marvelous game world.
In conclusion, while Bridgy Jones is far from being perfect or even original, it does manage to provide you with enough content and appeal. Also, if you take into consideration its low price, you can easily see that the game is well worth a purchase. Don’t expect something revolutionary, just a quick burst of fun and you’ll get the most out of this game!
